closing loops, praising, and my🙏prayer for you
Help your brain by learning to close loops and feel less overwhelm.
News from Anna’s Corner
I’ve been praying for God to show me the next steps and how I can help Him. I want to walk in His will. Today, I met one of His servants, Salvador. He paints houses and wants to update the trim in the front of my home. Why? He wants to spread kindness.
After a few minutes of talking, I offered to help him and his friend, Jade, create websites for their art and services. God provided and blessed us in the process.
My mom wrote “Reflections on Retirement” and posted a new one weekly on her website, Emily’s Snippets. You will find her final blog post, “Journey to Heaven.” My brother Paul and I finished the blog for her. She didn’t have time. Her passing was unexpected by us all, but it was definitely on her mind. Below are a few books I have published for my mom over the years. To see more, check out Mom’s book page on my website. You can find Mom’s obituary here.

Closing Loops Against Overwhelm
From an email - Productive Flourishing
Why Closing Loops Is About More Than Getting More Stuff Done
These loop-clearing practices aren’t just about getting more stuff done during the day. They’re about reclaiming your mental and emotional space from all those unfinished loops that keep shouting for attention so you can be present and focused in any given moment.
When we let open loops run wild, they end up running us instead. They steal our focus when we’re trying to create, keep us awake when we need to rest, create urgency spirals, and nibble away at our peace of mind even during moments that should be joyful.
But when we learn to catch them, close them, or consciously set them aside? That’s when we get back the mental space to think deeply, be present with who and what’s in front of us, and actually enjoy what we’re doing instead of always worrying about what we’re not doing.
This concept is interesting, as we remember that God should lead our focus. Being present, focused daily, and able to create, sleep, and stay calm centers around trusting the Lord to show us our next steps. The joy comes from knowing that God is working through you to bless others.
So, we can recognize open loops, tasks, and to-do lists on paper and in our minds, and decide how to deal with them. Either we set the priorities and the time to deal with them, or realize we can’t do everything and delegate.
Lord, thank You for Your word and Your Spirit who works within us to will and to do Your good pleasure. Help us take control of the thoughts, worries, and many things that fill our minds. Show us how to close loops, focus on You, and seek Your kingdom daily. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

1 Chronicles 28:9
To you, my son Solomon, maintain a relationship with the God of your father and serve Him with a complete heart in all your thoughts and actions. The Eternal searches all hearts for their desires and understands the intentions of every thought. If you search for Him as He searches you, then He will let you find Him. But if you abandon Him, then He will reject you forever.
Prayer
Lord, thank You for my reader. Lord God, thank You that she maintains her relationship with You. She serves You with her complete heart and all her thoughts and actions.
She praises You, the Eternal One, as she searches daily for You. You search her heart for her desires and understand every thought's intentions. You, Lord God, welcome her into Your arms of love.
Lord, You are our Great and Mighty King. You fight for us every day. We trust in You. We rest in You, knowing You are faithful. Help us to be grateful and praise Your name, Almighty God. Be glorified through her. In Jesus' name, Amen.

My husband shared this picture of the cat who shares the house with my mother-in-law. The arrogance is apparent in both his face and his posture. I hear he is quite the character. The humans in the house do his bidding.
