News from Anna’s Corner
My mother, Emily Ann Combs, graduated to heaven last Thursday. I will be taking a week off to celebrate her life with my family.
My mom wrote “Reflections on Retirement” and posted a new one every week on her website, Emily’s Snippets. There you will find her final blog post titled “Journey to Heaven.” My brother Paul and I finished the blog for her. She didn’t have time. Her passing was unexpected by us all, but it was definitely on her mind.

Book Study, Verse of the Week, and My Prayer for You
Anna’s Book Study Group (linked to the group page) is moving into Chapter 3. We are reading Experiencing God by Henry Blackaby. I’ve posted the introduction to the book and my thoughts on it. John 14:1-3
Jesus: Don’t get lost in despair; believe in God, and keep on believing in Me. My Father’s home is designed to accommodate all of you. If there were not room for everyone, I would have told you that. I am going to make arrangements for your arrival. I will be there to greet you personally and welcome you home, where we will be together.
Prayer
Lord, thank You for my reader. Lord God, thank You that she becomes discouraged; You are there to hold her in Your arms. She holds fast to her belief in You, knowing You have prepared for her coming. She is Your child and part of the Kingdom family.
And someday, she will arrive, and You will be there to welcome her home in person. And she will be with You forever. Until that day, she continues to serve You with gladness, rejoicing in Your love, peace, and joy. Her hope in You grows daily.
Lord, You are our Great and Mighty King. You fight for us every day. We trust in You. We rest in You, knowing You are faithful. Help us to be grateful and praise Your name, Almighty God. Be glorified through her. In Jesus' name, Amen.
