When Emily moved into the newly built home, she was excited to begin life as an adult. She had her own home and could fill it with comfortable furniture. But soon after her bedroom furniture and sets of couches arrived, so did the pandemic. Within a week of the lockdown, Emily knew she wanted company.
Jeffrey had spent the last 18 months at the shelter but had not been adopted. He created his family by comforting an older cat, mourning his human, and a scared kitten who continually escaped her cage and lay beside him.
The older cat, Greyson, encouraged Jeffrey to be open to his human when she arrived. She will be unusual, like Jeffrey, and compassionate. Jeffrey hadn’t believed Greyson.
Emily’s father fell ill and was taken to the hospital. A few days later, Ruth, Emily’s sister, found their mother on the floor. She was taken to the hospital too. Life had become tenuous. The sisters worried about their parents and prayed for healing.
Across town, a young man mourned the loss of his father, who had died not long before the pandemic started. Lucas met with his agent, who encouraged him to finish his novel. So Lucas buried himself in his apartment, which he shared with his kitty, Myra. When he was closing in on the book's conclusion, he learned his mother had fallen ill. The nurse who called him explained that he couldn’t visit his mother, but she would try to keep him updated.
Then Luke dragged himself to the doctor but collapsed in the waiting room. He woke up months later in the hospital with no idea how long he had been sick. He hoped Myra was okay. Just before he was discharged, a nurse came by his room with terrible news. Lucas had been orphaned. His mother had died while he was unconscious.
To make matters worse, his agent and her family had been devastated by the pandemic. One son survived to mourn the rest. When Lucas called the publisher, they informed him his book was dropped from their list. They refused to make an exception. He had missed the deadline by more than a month.
In the latest book, Susie and the Lizard: He Makes Wrongs Right, Emily and Lucas are busier than ever. Emily is hit with an animal emergency as she tries to cope with her mother’s fall and her company’s recall of all employees. Her primary scripture became Psalm 103. She was too busy to keep up her Bible reading.
Luke supports her by finding four important words in Psalm 103: "He Makes Wrongs Right." We need hope and faith to encompass these four words in the book and our lives. Despite everything around us, and even because of it, we know God is listening to our prayers. He Makes Wrongs Right. May your hope soar.
Psalm 103:6 When people are crushed, wronged, enslaved, raped, murdered, the Eternal is just; He makes the wrongs right.
The first book of The Adventures of Charlie and Ginger series, The Case of the Missing Fur, where Charlie and Ginger investigate a new neighbor cat and how he lost his fur.
Book 10 of Emily’s Cat Mysteries, Susie and the Lizard, The cats investigate a kidnapping, Emily’s mom moves to a rehab facility after her fall, and Randy and Lucas help build homes for people experiencing homelessness.

Psalm 103:10-12
10 Thankfully, God does not punish us for our sins and depravity as we deserve.
In His mercy, He tempers justice with peace.
11 Measure how high heaven is above the earth; God’s wide, loving, kind heart is greater for those who revere Him.
12 You see, God takes all our crimes—our seemingly inexhaustible sins—and removes them. As far as east is from the west, He removes them from us.
Lord, thank You for my reader. Thank You for You are just. You do not punish us as we deserve. In Your mercy, Lord God, You temper justice with peace. She is held in Your arms.
Thank You, Lord God, for showing her Your wide, loving, and kind heart. You take all of her crimes, her seemingly inexhaustible sins, and You remove them. How far do You take them, Lord? You remove them from her as far as the east is from the west. Your compassionate grace lifts her. She is placed by the flowing waters of Your Spirit.
Lord, You are our Great and Mighty King. You fight for us every day. We trust in You. We rest in You, knowing You are faithful. Help us to be grateful and praise Your name, Almighty God. Be glorified through her. In Jesus's name, Amen.
Have a blessed week!
