my inpenetrable shield and my 🙏 prayer for you
You, Eternal One, wrap around me like an impenetrable shield.
This week, I began my Bible reading in the book of Psalms. I made it to Psalm 3 yesterday. Then I knew it was my verse for the week. The Lord is my Shield. He protects me fully. My mind pictured a large blanket wrapped around me, protecting me from the cold.
This world is full of strange things that seem foreign to us at any time, but lately, we feel lost, frightened, and unsure of the people around us. Will they lash out violently? Do they have enough to eat? Are they afraid of me?
When the Lord wraps His protection around me, I see things differently. I lie down and fall asleep. Lately, sleep is unsure. I’m hoping my schedule settles down a bit. I’ve been falling asleep around 4 AM and waking up at 7 or 7:30. I normally like about seven hours of sleep. So this means I fall asleep around eleven each morning until just after one. I’m trusting the Lord and His Holy Spirit to enable me to lie down and fall asleep.
I’m also trusting the Lord to wake me in the morning, healthy, strong, and vibrant! Only in His power will this happen. Because when the Lord wraps His protection around me, I’m no longer afraid of the tens of thousands of enemies who surround me. The Eternal God protects me. I am in His presence.

Verse of the Week and My Prayer for You
Psalm 3
Eternal One, my adversaries are many, too many to count. Now they have taken a stand against me! Right to my face they say, “God will not save you!” [pause]
But You, Eternal One, wrap around me like an impenetrable shield. You give me glory and lift my eyes up to the heavens. I lift my voice to You, Eternal One, and You answer me from Your sacred heights. [pause]
I lie down at night and fall asleep. I awake in the morning—healthy, strong, vibrant—because the Eternal supports me. No longer will I fear my tens of thousands of enemies who have surrounded me!
Rise up, O Eternal One! Rescue me, O God! For You have dealt my enemies a strong blow to the jaw! You have shattered their teeth! Do so again. Liberation truly comes from the Eternal. Let Your blessings shower down upon Your people. [pause]
Prayer
Lord, thank You for my reader. Thank You that she is wrapped in Your inpenetrable shield. Your Spirit surrounds her with Your presence, and Your angels protect her. When she calls on You, You answer her cries for help.
Thank You, Lord, my reader feels Your protection. When she lies down, she falls asleep. And when she awakens, Your support allows her to be healthy, strong, and vibrant. She does not fear those who surround her. You, Eternal One, rescue her. Your blessings shower down on her.
Lord, You are our Great and Mighty King. You fight for us every day. We trust in You. We rest in You, knowing You are faithful. Help us to be grateful and praise Your name, Almighty God. Be glorified through her. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Powerful Prayers and Psalm 23
Powerful Prayers and Psalm 23: The Practical Mystic’s guide to three Christian prayers: The Lord is my Shepherd, The Lord’s Prayer and Bless the Lord, O My Soul
How should we pray to God? And when should we listen? Modern Mystic Henry Thomas Hamblin shares his meditative study of three of the most powerful and enduring prayers in the Christian tradition in a previously un-published collection.
Known in his time as the Saint of Sussex, Hamblin’s approach to these prayers is similar to the ancient contemplative Christian practice of Lectio Divina, where we begin our prayer with a clear and still mind, listening as much as speaking to God.
In Powerful Prayers and Psalm 23, Henry Thomas Hamblin will:
Lead you into the heart of Psalm 23 (The Lord is my Shepherd) and reveal its affirmations of abundance, healing, infinite supply and life eternal
Provide insights into traditional Christian prayers through the lens of practical mysticism
Encourage gratitude with a study of Bless the Lord, O My Soul, Psalm 103, in praise and thanksgiving for all that we receive
Guide you through an interpretation of The Lord’s Prayer which sheds new light on familiar words, helping you to experience its meaning as if for the first time
This unique approach to the power of prayer will not only reveal the hidden invocations of Psalm 23, Psalm 103, and The Lord’s Prayer but will also equip you with a new way of praying to help bring you closer to living in the presence of God.
