picture book, a review and my🙏prayer for you
Once you begin to refresh your website, do you ever finish?
This week, I focused on finishing the new book pages on my website. Guess what? I found something to add to them. I mean, it’s only just over 60 books—not that many. (Sorry, my sarcasm is showing.)
I created a new section for the next course and am now learning about the paid subscriber options and how to deal with them. Yippee. These posts, notes, and the Hope in God in 5 Days course continue to be free.
I created a section for Readers of Anna K Payne, a place for book reviewers and comments. You can always follow me on Bookbub and StoryOrigin, where you can easily review any of the available books. If you can’t find the book you want to review, reply to me, message me, or post it in the Readers of Anna K Payne section on Substack.
I also added a free course, Find Hope in God in 5 Days. All the posts are there and available for everyone. The posts are meant for once a day. It came to my attention that my courses are no longer available where they were, so I am moving them as quickly as possible to Substack.
The Rocky Start ebook launches in two weeks! Preordering the ebook helps the book become more visible to potential readers. (The ebook is available for preorder, and the paperback is ready.) Daily Prayer Guides Volume 5 is also on Amazon (the ebook and the paperback are available). Emily’s Snippets Volume 3 is nearing completion. I have formatted May through December—just four more months to go.
I received my first review on The Rocky Start. It was very exciting to read it! Here is an excerpt:
A faithful community of four-footed friends helps watch over a small town. Too many folks in positions of power seem prepared to continue exploiting a waterfront town with strong ties to the fishing industry. Clever and sometimes costumed critters, citizens willing to pitch in, alongside a formerly retired Chief of police, and some amazing animals. Powerful community cooperation in action.
I’m having a blast writing Emily’s Cat Mysteries Book 10, Susie and the Lizard. I’m a third of the way done. There are several storylines to keep track of, along with the lizard issue.
Last night, I began work on the first Children’s Picture Book, I Am A Medieval Cat, which stars Charlie! There is so much to look forward to!

Matthew 11:25-30
Abruptly Jesus broke into prayer: “Thank you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth. You’ve concealed your ways from sophisticates and know-it-alls, but spelled them out clearly to ordinary people. Yes, Father, that’s the way you like to work.”
Jesus resumed talking to the people, but now tenderly. “The Father has given me all these things to do and say. This is a unique Father-Son operation, coming out of Father and Son intimacies and knowledge. No one knows the Son the way the Father does, nor the Father the way the Son does. But I’m not keeping it to myself; I’m ready to go over it line by line with anyone willing to listen.
“Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.”
Lord, thank You for my reader. Thank You for revealing Yourself to her. You explain how You work to her until she understands. When she is tired, worn out, or done with religion, You come close to her, bringing comfort. She recovers her life in Your presence, where she rests in You.
Thank You, Lord God, that You walk and work with her, showing her how to do life. She is learning the unforced rhythms of grace. You do not lay anything on her that she cannot bear because she walks with You. She is learning to live freely and lightly as she keeps company with You.
Lord, You are our Great and Mighty King. You fight for us every day. We trust in You. We rest in You, knowing You are faithful. Help us to be grateful and praise Your name, Almighty God. Be glorified through her. In Jesus's name, Amen.
Have a blessed week!
