rocking a lion launches and my 🙏 prayer for you

I had a blast creating the heart graphic above. When I read the verse, my mind stuck on “my heart leaps,” and a cartoon of a heart leaping into the air appeared in my thoughts. This is my poor substitute for that cartoon.
The Psalm continues with the thought of imminent deliverance. O Lord, thank You for delivering me from harm. You put the spark of life in my eyes. I sing to You, Eternal One. You are always generous to me.
But I trust in Your faithful love; my heart leaps at the thought of imminent deliverance by You. I will sing to the Eternal, for He is always generous with me.

Verse of the Week and My Prayer for You
Psalm 13
How long, O Eternal One? How long will You forget me? Forever? How long will You look the other way? How long must I agonize, grieving Your absence in my heart every day? How long will You let my enemies win?
Turn back; respond to me, O Eternal, my True God! Put the spark of life in my eyes, or I’m dead. My enemies will boast they have beaten me; my foes will celebrate that I have stumbled.
But I trust in Your faithful love; my heart leaps at the thought of imminent deliverance by You. I will sing to the Eternal, for He is always generous with me.
Prayer
Lord, thank You for my reader. Thank You that You never forget her. You fill her heart with hope. Her eyes sparkle with life and You uphold her when she stumbles.
Thank You, Lord, that she trusts in Your faithful love. Her heart leaps at the thought of imminent deliverance by You. She sings to You, O Eternal God. You are always generous with her.
Lord, You are our Great and Mighty King. You fight for us every day. We trust in You. We rest in You, knowing You are faithful. Help us to be grateful and praise Your name, Almighty God. Be glorified through her. In Jesus' name, Amen.
Have a blessed week! Thank you for reading!
The Night You Should Have Left
He thought he was the one watching
A Blood on the Board Prelude
He thought he was the one watching.
Morris Hale has spent his career studying people — their weaknesses, their habits, the moments they don’t realize they’re exposed.
Driving for the Quinn estate is supposed to be simple.
Keep the schedule. Keep the silence. Don’t cross the line.
But Elara Quinn does not behave like other women.
She plays chess in underground rooms where men twice her age lose more than money.
She swims alone without looking over her shoulder.
She never raises her voice.
She never asks for protection.
And she never explains what she knows.
When Morris mistakes proximity for permission, he believes he’s taking control.
He doesn’t see the matte black car.
He doesn’t hear the warning until it’s too late.
He doesn’t understand that some silences are not invitations — they are measurements.
Because in this world, you are not removed for what you do.
You are removed for believing you could.
The Night You Should Have Left is a dark, psychological prelude to Blood on the Board — a story of entitlement, correction, and the moment a man realizes he was never the player.
Only the piece.
