Psalm 15 is an interesting psalm filled with what not to do.
Eternal One, who is invited to stay in Your dwelling?
It begins with an intriguing question. Who is invited to stay in God’s presence? What do I find in God’s presence?
In God, I find love, because He is love. I Corinthians 13 defines God’s love in detail.
Love is patient; love is kind. Love isn’t envious, doesn’t boast, brag, or strut about. There’s no arrogance in love; it’s never rude, crude, or indecent—it’s not self-absorbed. Love isn’t easily upset. Love doesn’t tally wrongs or celebrate injustice; but truth—yes, truth—is love’s delight! Love puts up with anything and everything that comes along; it trusts, hopes, and endures no matter what. Love will never become obsolete.
Here is the answer: The one who lives with integrity, does what is right, and speaks honestly with truth from the heart.
What a contrast from Psalm 15! If I am honest, without the Holy Spirit working in me, I have trouble living with integrity, doing what is right, and speaking honestly with truth. Living in God’s love is a privilege and a glorious grace and mercy.
Who is not welcome in God’s presence?
The one who speaks evil against others or wrongs his neighbor, or slanders his friends. The one who lifts up the loathsome, dishonors those who fear the Eternal, and breaks every promise. The one who lends money with gain in mind and can be bought to harm an innocent name.
I see many people who are ready to talk about other people. They align themselves with evil by not speaking out for the marginalized. Lord, help me to pray against the evil spreading across the world. Help me speak up for the downtrodden. And show me where Your love, grace, and mercy are missing in my life. Help me to be a gentle and kind woman, ready to offer my hand.
If you live this way, you will not be shaken and will live together with the Lord.
I checked over ten translations of the last verse of Psalm 15. “Not be shaken” is translated as “not be moved” and “will stand.” Then the song filled my soul, like a tree planted by the water, I will not be moved.
But blessed is the one who trusts in Me alone; the Eternal will be his confidence. He is like a tree planted by water, sending out its roots beside the stream. It does not fear the heat or even drought. Its leaves stay green, and its fruit is dependable, no matter what it faces. Jeremiah 17:7-8

Psalm 15
Eternal One, who is invited to stay in Your dwelling? Who is granted passage to Your holy mountain?
Here is the answer: The one who lives with integrity, does what is right, and speaks honestly with truth from the heart.
The one who doesn’t speak evil against others or wrong his neighbor, or slander his friends. The one who loathes the loathsome, honors those who fear the Eternal, and keeps all promises no matter the cost. The one who does not lend money with gain in mind and cannot be bought to harm an innocent name.
If you live this way, you will not be shaken and will live together with the Lord.
Prayer
Lord, thank You for my reader. You have invited her into Your presence. She is welcomed with warmth and delight. My reader lives with integrity, seeking to do right and speak truth.
Thank You, Lord, that she does not speak against others, but honors all of Your creation. She lives strong, standing firm in the presence of evil, but she also stands before You. Thank You, Lord, that she will not be shaken or moved from her path. She lives together with You.
Lord, You are our Great and Mighty King. You fight for us every day. We trust in You. We rest in You, knowing You are faithful. Help us to be grateful and praise Your name, Almighty God. Be glorified through her. In Jesus' name, Amen.
